Artist Residencies are an extremely viable and practical approach for an artist at any level of their career, to challenge, sustain and develop a significant studio practice.

Fiona Kelly will give an in depth professional development workshop on the topic of artist residencies; what facilities you use to find them, how to apply, the available funding and what documentation is required of you to display your work in the best possible light. She will demonstrate how to build an artist CV and the best way to write a clear and concise proposal.

A prologue to these demonstrations will be a brief presentation of her experiences while on residency and how they facilitate, develop and fuel her professional practice.

The workshop will include a Q & A session.

Lorg Presents…brings together works by over 16 national and international artists working in a variety of contemporary print media, spanning from traditional printmaking, sculptural works, photography, collage and book art.

Contributing artists have responded to ideas of the dialogue between the production and consumption of information, focusing on the subjectivity of data and culturally adopted conventions.

WE ARE CCP/Standby for Culture Night Transmission @ the Workspace, Sample Studios

Featuring a line up of visual, digital, sonic and performance art from Mitch Conlon, Ellipsis Theatre, Paul Harrington & Edel O’ Reilly, Fiona Kelly, Amanda Rice and Liam Slevin

This year CCP will return to Cork to host a happening and Culture Night franchise, opening their exhibition, residency and studios spaces across Ireland and Europe to audiences in those locations and streaming the broadcastin real-time to Sample Studios in Cork and live online. CCP will broadcast from Berlin, Olafsfjoraur (Iceland) and Westport to the flagship Irish venue in Cork at the Workshop, Sample Studios. This space will comprise of a central video projection of this transmission in addition to a further performances which will activate the entire floor, blurring the boundaries between stage, seat, audience and performer.

With this project CCP will create a real-time happening which can be experienced on location and by viewers online across the world via google + hangout live broadcast and archived for further viewing after the event via youtube.

This project has kindly supported by Cork Film Centre, The Workspace, Sample Studios and Culture Ireland.
